Senior Warden Message

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Vestry met last week and I wanted to share three key takeaways with you.

We will hold a special Parish Meeting on March 17 during the 9:15 Sunday School hour to share with you what the Vestry and the building and capital campaign committees have been doing toward our goal to build a new Parish Hall. We hope you can be there to learn about this exciting development, and we appreciate your patience as we work to provide more room for our growing Parish life.

Secondly, to help improve our communications—especially on Parish finances—we’ve asked Treasurer Sean Reeves to provide a short financial update each quarter of the year at the beginning of the 9:15 Sunday School hour. We will announce these updates in advance and encourage everyone from both services to be there to be better informed about the Vestry’s stewardship of our finances while reflecting on God’s provision through your faithful giving.

Thirdly, the Vestry considered minor revisions of our existing bylaws recommended by our Bylaws Committee to better align with the recently published Diocese model bylaws. After discussion, the Vestry decided to table the revisions and continue using our existing bylaws.

For more details on our monthly Vestry meetings, I encourage you to review the minutes regularly posted in the Cottage and now also in the Narthex. Please let any member of the Vestry know how we can better serve the Lord with you.

Your Senior Warden,
Steve Mouton

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED‎‎‎

There are some projects in the rectory and cottage that are a bit more than “work-day projects” and will require a more time. Doing these ourselves allows us to conserve resources, to be good stewards of our buildings and property, and take care of our Rector and his family. Specifically, we are looking for volunteer help with some woodworking and tile projects. If you have experience and would like to possibly volunteer, call/text Susan Herbert (phone number listed below).

To see a list of the things we need to accomplish, please visit the narthex for a list.

The Call of Fr. Eric Parkerㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

The Church of Our Saviour has the pleasure of announcing that Fr. Eric Parker has accepted the call to join our parish as an assistant minister. He will begin on August 1st and work alongside Fr. Jonathan to tend to the needs of our growing congregation.

The Rev. Dr. Eric Parker is a native of Laurel, Mississippi. He recently served as rector of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Lexington, VA, where he helped establish an Anglican school. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, an M.A. in Theology from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Religion from McGill University in Montréal. He has published a co-authored book and has written various academic articles. He is married to Aubrey and they have three children, Asher, Evelyn, and Brendan. In his spare time Fr. Eric enjoys hiking, photography, and trying his hand at different musical instruments.

Please be praying for his family as they navigate this transition.

Prayer, Praise, and the Word of God save lives at Mosaic!

Wonderful things are happening at MOSAIC! This year MOSAIC Virginia is expanding their staff network, opening a home for expectant mothers (Coming March 1st!), and continuing the important work of reaching out to those mothers at risk of abortion. To learn more about their mission and/or to donate to the furnishing of the MOSAIC HOUSE, click on the link below.
