Book Launch | Jan 26

“Called To Freedom” Book launch

This month, Brad Littlejohn will be celebrating the publication of his new book, Called to Freedom: Retrieving Christian Liberty in an Age of License.” This book distills fifteen years of his research in the fields of political theology and Christian ethics into a short volume accessible to the layman. We’re pleased to host Evening Prayer and a lecture at the church on Sunday, January 26th at 6:00 p.m. to hear him introduce the book and its importance for the church today. Book signing and refreshments will follow at the cottage.

Sanctity of Life | Jan 26

On January 26, from 9:15-10:00 AM our Sanctity of Life speaker will be Catherine J. Wheeler, MD, an Ob/Gyn physician on the Board of Directors of American Association Of ProLife ObGyns (AAPLOG) who practiced in Salt Lake City, Utah for 24 years. Dr. Wheeler now lives in Colorado, where she is a frequent speaker for life and the reality of abortion, provides testimony at the Colorado legislature, had recent experience with the Colorado ballot initiative on abortion, provides informational opinion pieces and interviews for media, and serves with prolife organizations to educate, to advance the defense of preborn human life, and to advocate for and provide support for women and families.

The American Association Of ProLife ObGyns (AAPLOG) aims to make known the evidence-based effects of abortion on women as well as the scientific fact that human life begins at the moment of fertilization, with the goal that all women, regardless of race, creed or national origin, will be empowered to make healthy and life-affirming choices. AAPLOG’s organizational vision is to be the pre-eminent medical voice that informs the medical community, policy makers and the public on the importance of declining to use death as a therapeutic option, which respects the dignity of all human life and prohibits the taking of a life by a medical practitioner, including the lives of pre-born children.

On Friday Jan 24 at 9:30 there will be a prayer and worship service for Sanctity of Life at the Falls Church Anglican .Details at the link below.

Free Speech Event | Jan 15

 Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton

Fellow congregants,
Over the past few months I’ve had the privilege to take part in the legal and PR effort around the upcoming Supreme Court case Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, which has the real potential to be the first major legal setback for the pornography industry in several decades and could set a major precedent in favor of protecting children from horrific content online. The oral arguments before the Court are slated for January 15, and a number of groups will be participating in a rally out front that morning, at which I and some of my colleagues will be speaking. Lots of press are likely to be present, and we’re hoping to get a good crowd to make a big public statement, especially Christians ready to witness against this evil and on behalf of the vulnerable who have been victimized by it. If you’re able to, please consider joining us in front of the Supreme Court from 8:30-10:00 AM on January 15th. (Note: given the sensitivity of the topic, we’re recommending parents not bring younger children.)

Thanks,
Brad Littlejohn
